We are honored to announce that the Colorado Energy Office has selected the Town of Nederland to receive $1,079,000 from the Local Implementation, Mitigation, and Policy Action (Local IMPACT) Accelerator Grant program. This program provides federal funding to help Colorado’s local governments adopt and implement ambitious policies in buildings, land use, transportation, and waste. This funding focuses on reducing emissions and improving air quality by supporting local actions that go beyond state requirements – aiming to build a healthier, more affordable Colorado.

This award recognizes our commitment to advancing resilient housing options and multimodal transportation infrastructure. We are honored to be among a select group of 18 local governments dedicated to driving impact in our Colorado communities.

This funding will be rolled out over the next three years in the form of policy work and projects. It will allow the Town to pursue ADU-friendly policies, provide community members with financial and technical assistance for constructing ADUs on their properties, develop engineering designs for a more accessible downtown and pedestrian pathways, and create designs for accessible bus stops in Nederland. We look forward to using these funds to create positive change in our community.
