The Town of Nederland has a Sustainability Coordinator on staff dedicated to improving the sustainability of Town operations and helping residents and businesses access sustainability resources.

The Town also has a Sustainability Advisory Board that was created in 2009. Find out more about the work of the SAB by following the link in the menu on the lefthand side of the screen.

Nederland recently entered into an agreement to team up with Xcel Energy's Partners in Energy (PIE). This is a two-year endeavor designed to support our community in developing and implementing a strategic plan unique to our renewable and energy efficiency objectives. Take our survey to let the Town and PIE know what your priorities are for the community's energy future. We want your feedback on our vision statement, goals, and strategies.

Here’s what we aim to accomplish through Partners in Energy:

  • Develop our community’s long-term vision
  • Identify the appropriate goals and strategies to achieve that vision
  • Engage and motivate our community members to take action
  • Track our results
  • Celebrate our achievements and promote our successes

Xcel Energy will provide resources to support Nederland as we develop a plan that we will own. They will also provide plan implementation resources beyond their existing rebates and programs. Examples of these resources include project management, outreach and engagement, data analysis, and more.
